KESO® Keys – Duplicating Swiss High-Security Keys
About KESO: KESO is a Swiss-origin high-security key system, now under the ASSA ABLOY umbrella, known for its highly pick-resistant cylinders and unique key designs. KESO keys often have multiple rows of angled holes or cuts (for example, KESO 2000 series have 3 rows of dimples) and are renowned for patent-protected key control. KESO locks are used in commercial settings and upscale residences globally. A hallmark of KESO systems is that duplicate keys can only be made with a security card presented. The security card has a code that locksmiths or the factory use to cut a new key, and unauthorized shops typically cannot get the correct blanks or code without it. Essentially, if you need a KESO key copy, you must go through an authorized dealer with your ID and that card; in some cases, the dealer actually orders the key from the manufacturer to maintain precision.
Why Mikiz for KESO Key Duplication:
- Authorized Without the Hassle: Mikiz leverages technology to allow legitimate KESO key owners to get duplicates without physically visiting a specialized KESO locksmith. Through the app, we will request the necessary proof (usually the key’s unique code or a scan of the security card) to ensure authenticity. Once verified, Mikiz can cut the key for you using manufacturer-grade data. You effectively get an “authorized” copy because we follow the same rules – we just do it remotely and faster.
- Advanced Key Scanning: KESO keys can be quite complex (with angled drillings, cross-sections, etc.), but Mikiz’s scanning algorithms are designed for such challenges. By analyzing the key from multiple angles, our software reconstructs the 3D pattern of the key. In combination with the key code (if provided), this ensures the duplicate is extremely accurate, capturing subtleties like angled pin positions or side coding that generic key machines might miss.
- Patent-Compliance: We only use authentic KESO blank keys or the official equivalents. KESO’s patented profiles mean not just any blank will work – using incorrect blanks can ruin the lock or the key. Mikiz sources the correct blank for your specific KESO system (e.g., KESO 2500, 4000S Omega, etc.) so that the new key is fully compatible. By doing this, we respect KESO’s intellectual property and quality standards. The result is a duplicate key that will perform as well as an original key cut by KESO.
- Secure Handling: Security is paramount with KESO systems, which often protect sensitive facilities. Mikiz keeps your key data encrypted. Only authorized Mikiz technicians access the code to cut the key, and they treat it as confidential. Once cut, the key and any code info are not stored long-term in an identifiable way. We also ship KESO keys with heightened care – unmarked packaging and optional signature on delivery, so it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.
- Faster Turnaround: Ordering a KESO key through traditional channels might take weeks (especially if the factory in Europe has to mail it). Mikiz dramatically speeds this up. Many KESO key duplicates via Mikiz are cut and mailed out within 1–2 business days of verification. Even with shipping, you could have your new key in just a few days instead of a few weeks. This speed can be crucial for businesses or individuals who can’t wait long for a spare.
How to Copy a KESO Key with Mikiz:
- Scan & Provide Code: Start by scanning your KESO key with Mikiz. Given the complexity, the app may ask for multiple photos (front, back, possibly edge). Next, be ready to enter the KESO key code if you have it from your security card. If you don’t have the physical card, the app will try to extract as much as possible from the photos and may ask some questions about the key or where it was obtained (to help identify the profile).
- Verification: Mikiz will validate the information. KESO keys are highly restricted, so this might involve cross-checking the code or key profile in our system. If everything checks out (and you’ve proven ownership, e.g., via account verification or matching the registered owner info if available), we’ll approve the duplication request.
- Cut & Ship: Using either the decoded pattern from your scans or the exact code from your card (or both), Mikiz will cut a duplicate on the proper KESO blank. The key is tested for accuracy. We then ship it to you. If you’re in the U.S., you’ll typically receive it within a week or sooner. International orders are also possible (Mikiz can serve many countries), with shipping times varying. Once your KESO duplicate arrives, test it gently – it should slide into the lock and turn with the same precision as your original key, confirming a successful copy.
